The Freud/Tiffany Project

In the first comprehensive exploration of Anna Freud’s and Dorothy Tiffany Burlingham’s joint educational endeavor in Vienna of the 1920s, the project consists of 4 parts, to date:
- A major exhibit at the Freud Museum London in Summer 2017
- An exhibit catalog with 82 illustrations and 3 original essays
- A May 2017 international conference at the Anna Freud Centre with scholars from Austria, the United States, Great Britain and France
- A 15-minute film titled Anna Freud and ‘The Conscience of Society’ premiered in September 2018 at the Hungarian Academy of Science in Budapest

Anna Freud’s pioneering work in education and early child development comes alive in words and visuals of her era. Based on a major exhibit held at the Freud Museum London in 2017, this innovative video production includes four newly-discovered photographs of Sigmund Freud.
Elizabeth Ann Danto, Ph.D. is professor emeritus, Hunter College-City University of New York; writer and international lecturer on the history of psychoanalysis as a marker of urban culture; author of Historical Research (Oxford University Press 2009) and Freud’s Free Clinics – Psychoanalysis & Social Justice, 1918-1938 (Columbia University Press 2008) which received the Gradiva Award and the Goethe Prize.
Alexandra Steiner-Strauss,MMag. is a Viennese art and cultural historian, author of Trägt die Sprache schon Gesang in sich. Richard Strauss und die Oper (2014), and co-author of Gustav Klimt und Wien (2012) and Anna Freud in Wien (2016).
Inge-Martine Pretorius, Ph.D. in Mikrobiologie und D.Psych. in Psychoanalytischer Psychotherapie, Analytische Psychotherapeutin für Kinder und Jugendliche.
Sie leitet das Toddler Program am Anna Freud Centre in London und ist Tutorin des Masterprogramms Psychoanalytische Entwicklungspsychologie am University College London sowie am Anna Freud Centre.
Zusammen mit Marie Zaphiriou Woods hat sie das Buch „Eltern-Kind-Gruppen. Psychoanalytische Entwicklungsforschung und Praxisbeispiele“ (2013) herausgegeben.
